The European Union is relocating two of its key agencies
from London to Amsterdam and Paris post-Brexit.

On Monday, the EU supplied following votes that the European
Medicines Agency (EMA) might maybe be moved to Amsterdam,
Netherlands — an early mark of the ability charges for the United
Kingdom of leaving the political and financial union.

The European Banking Authority (EBA), in the interim, is
being moved to Paris.

The 2 agencies’ relocations will have an effect on nearly 1,000 jobs
in for the time being in Britain, and millions in annual funding. In
June 2017, following Britain’s decision to head away the European
Union, the EU agreed unanimously to relocate the two agencies.

There had been 27 proposals from 23 cities, and European Union member
states voted in Brussels on Tuesday.

The EMA is « accountable for the scientific overview,
supervision and security monitoring of medicines in the EU, » whereas
the EMBA « works to originate determined high quality and consistent prudential
regulation and supervision across the European banking sector, »

the EU says.

The vote on the EMA used to be a draw between Amsterdam and Milan, Italy
— forcing the two cities to draw plenty, which Amsterdam won,

consistent with Politico.
