Uber halts self-using assessments after loss of life

Uber has stated it’s a ways suspending self-using vehicle assessments in all US cities after a deadly accident.

A lady became hit by a vehicle and killed as she crossed the boulevard in Tempe, Arizona.

Uber stated it became cooperating with native authorities in Arizona following the crash.

The loss of life comes a year after Uber took its self-using vehicles off the boulevard following an accident that left a Volvo SUV on its aspect in Arizona.

Uber chief government Dara Khosrowshahi stated the loss of life became « incredibly unhappy news ».

« We’re thinking of the sufferer’s household as we work with native law enforcement to trace what came about, » he stated in a tweet.
