Al Jazeera readers reply to Trump’s Jerusalem transfer

US President Donald Trump recognised Jerusalem because the capital of Israel on Wednesday and started steps to transfer the American embassy from Tel Aviv to the Holy Metropolis announcing the transfer is « long overdue ». 

US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has induced protests and condemnation from world leaders from Tehran to Berlin.  

Al Jazeera asked folks on social media to respond to Trump’s transfer. 1000’s spoke back within the comments piece. 

Many speak Jerusalem is the historical and future capital of Palestine, citing its significance because the 1/3-holiest metropolis in Islam and historical ties to the Palestinian folks. 

Others supported the transfer with some announcing Trump became on a mission from God. 

Some remember Jerusalem desires to be the holy capital for all, noting its significance to the three main monotheistic religions.
