Beijing says Xi speech wasn’t a concession to US, or now not it is willing to hit benefit at any escalation

China is now not going to hesitate to battle benefit if the United States escalates its trade spat with Beijing, the commerce ministry acknowledged on Thursday, declaring that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s pledge to reduce import tariffs is now not a concession to Washington.

Xi on Tuesday vowed to starting up China’s economy further and lower import duties on goods similar to automobiles. U.S. President Donald Trump spoke back in a tweet asserting he became « grateful » for Xi’s type words on tariffs and web entry to for U.S. automakers, besides his « enlightenment » on mental property points.

Washington is accusing Chinese corporations of stealing the trade secrets and systems of U.S. companies and forcing them into joint ventures to form their technology — the crux of Trump’s fresh tariff threats in opposition to China.

It’d be misleading to state Xi’s pledge this week became a concession to the United States, commerce ministry spokesman Gao Feng acknowledged at a odd press briefing in Beijing.
