Sheriff: Man killed deputy, stole his automobile and robbed retailer
NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine (AP) — A person fatally shot a sheriff’s deputy, stole his cruiser and then robbed a consolation retailer early Wednesday morning, authorities stated.
Somerset County Cpl. Sheriff Eugene Cole used to be killed at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. Route 2 in Norridgewock, whisper police stated, and his cruiser used to be pushed to a Cumberland Farms retailer, which used to be robbed.
Police express they’re browsing for a suspect identified as 29-year-inclined John Williams, of Madison, Maine. They express he’s 5-foot-6, a hundred and twenty kilos with blue eyes and brown hair in a ponytail.
Police stated Cole had been a deputy for thirteen years and has a son.
