The brand new miniseries, starring Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke’s daughter, Maya Hawke (making her show cloak debut), as Jo, dutifully tests off the lengthy original’s biggest hits: the burned manuscript, the ice, the limes, Meg’s solo time out to a flowery party and consequent unnecessary guilt — and appears to be like beautiful.
